Working from home

Sep 07, 2020

Lockdown has meant many of the people I work with ended up working from home. We’ve created office spaces on landings, tucked away in alcoves and corners, even as a last resort, in bedrooms.

But for me, when the sun comes out, I’m really drawn to be outside. If I’m at home I’m lured onto the balcony, but sometimes I hit the jackpot!

Yes OK, you have to think about internet access, power and something to put the laptop on, a seriously comfortable chair and plenty of sunscreen… but when you get it right its bliss.

My fabulous fellow coach and mentor Louise and I spent a few days together last week.

Being in her company is totally inspirational and we bounce positive energy about her beautiful home … However we devote time to our own businesses and clients too.

Louise has this totally blissful mature woodland garden. No matter the time of day, there’s always a sunny spot or area of cool dappled shade when the heat gets too much.

How divine to spend a day writing and speaking with clients while I enjoyed the bright fresh air, warm sunshine and developed a tan…

It was a mini-working holiday which continued with a few days working from a gorgeous farm in the Peak District

So if you can find a way to take yourself outside for your own working from home treat, take advantage of any beautiful days and make your own magic happen.
